The programs and organizations listed below can help anyone who left a trafficking situation or who is looking to leave.

We know that it can be a difficult thing to do but know that there are places you can go for help.

YMCA of Hamilton/Burlington/brantford - anti-human trafficking Intiative

The YMCA provides awareness and prevention presentation to youth, parents/care givers and community partners in the area of sex trafficking. Through the Youth In Transition Worker Program, victims and survivors are supported through an individualized case management process. The YMCA staff helps the survivor find housing, a stable income and connects them to other needed supports in the community.

In 2021, a police/court support worker has been added to the program. This worker will support the victim/survivor as they interact with police and the courts as they hold their trafficker to account for their crimes.

Native women’s centre - healing our sisters

The Healing Sisters program provides wraparound services including emergency beds, transportation, food and trauma-informed culturally respectful care to support (Indigenous) women, persons at risk and persons with lived experience of human trafficking. 24-hour support to individuals who are or have been involved in human trafficking.

REstorations - second stage housing

Restorations is working to meet the need for safe, specialized and supportive housing for survivors of human trafficking and commercial sexual exploitation. We are in the process of renovating a three-bedroom home in the Burlington area that will provide residential programming for survivors.

The core of our work will be building and nurturing trusting, long-term relationships between survivors of commercial sexual exploitation and staff, volunteers and the wider community in order to establish a foundation for recovery, healing, empowerment and success.
