HAMILTON ANTI-HUMAN TRAFFICKING COALITION (HAHTC) STEERING COMMITTEE: RESPONSE PROTOCOL FOR SERVICE PROVIDERS

A protocol is a system of rules that explain the correct conduct and procedures to be following in formal situations. The HAHTC Human Trafficking Response Protocol is a document that provides a framework and a system of practices for members to engage, support or respond to either self-disclosed or suspected cases of human trafficking within the Greater City of Hamilton. The protocol provides a comprehensive, integrated and coordinated response to at-risk, and/or trafficked persons. The Protocol prioritizes the early identification and intervention of trafficked persons, as well as underscores the commitment to combat trafficking within the City of Hamilton.

In our commitment to transparency and equipping others with resources, tools and knowledge to better support survivors, the Hamilton Anti-Human Trafficking Coalition steering committee has made our protocol public for others to utilize.

GUIDE FOR SUPPORTING TRAFFICKED PERSONS

The Guide for Supporting Trafficked Persons was first published by the Hamilton Anti-Human Trafficking Coalition in 2018 and is designed to assist frontline employees working in human, social and health services to support survivors of human trafficking. The guide includes human trafficking education, assessment considerations, trauma-informed practice, and resources to support service delivery.

The guide is currently being updated and should be available early 2025!
